More For The Metalfest Open-Airs

Over the last couple of days the Metalfest group of festivals have been adding bands to some of the editions (mostly the same ones, it has to be said), with the Swiss one, which had been lagging behind a little, getting the biggest announcements, adding a lot of the bands of note that are already confirmed for the other dates.

The only real new bands to be announced are Thyrfing, who have been added to Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and Tuxedo and Unhale, both added to Austria. All three have also formally confirmed Suicidal Angels, but the band announced their participation themselves some weeks ago.

Otherwise Switzerland has been bolstered with Sepultura, Behemoth, Korpiklaani, Deicide, Marduk, all of which are already confirmed for Germany, Austria and some of them for Hungary.

The website for the Czech Republic edition of the event is still not online, so most of the line-up for that remains unknown.

End of Year Top 20 (and yes, more Wacken bands)

As 2009 has now drawn to a close, the Jukebox:Metal top twenty albums of the year list is now online. Let the arguments begin!

And of course, Wacken have added some more bands: Schlemish, Maroon, Varg and Letzte Instanz.
